Bela Labyrinth
Matthew Kron’s rose labyrinth has added great beauty and new meaning to this special place that we are honoured to steward.
We appreciated his dedication, intelligence, focused labour, and creativity in the realization of this complex project.
The labyrinth’s beauty is obvious to everyone.
I have seen and been told about visitors being moved by the beauty, as well as by their personal contemplative journeys while walking this magical labyrinth.
With much gratitude for Matthew’s work,

Hog Hill Labyrinth
“From ancient Crete via Chartres Cathedral to Hog Hill Farm, a stone labyrinth by Matt Kron has impregnated our soil. Combining his passion for stones with his deep understanding of labyrinthine forms, he has recreated the Chartres design to scale. We selected the site - our vegetable garden - and the materials - Bruce Peninsula shore pebbles and lava rocks for walls. Matt painstakingly replicated the Chartres prototype.
The result is stunning: symbolically evocative and spiritually fulfilling. Its centerpiece is a sculpture by Andreas Drenters, which encapsulates our vision and Matt’s creativity.”

Rose Manor Farm
I first heard of labyrinths in 2001 and became instantly enamoured with them. Against logical and financial reasoning, I chose to build one on my parents land. Not a small one, but a 72 foot diameter model of the Chartres Labyrinth in France. I must say it was a labour of love and that work was joy. I held full moon walks for local people and their reactions moved me. People would spontaneously burst out crying or stop in their tracks as something was drawn out of them by the connection one feels to their inner self or heart when walking the labyrinth. Anyone who walked was always grateful and it touched my heart to hear of their experiences.
